Alicante Airport

Alicante airport guide Alicante airport, also known as Alacant airport is one of Spains busiest for six months of the year as charter flights bring holidaymakers from northern Europe to the famed Costa Blanca!

To cater for the summer tourist trade the existing two terminal complex will be replaced / assisted by a new terminal 1 (yes, the terminal numbering wasn't that well thought out) which is due to be completed in time for summer 2010.

Transport to and from

Located next to the main highway A-7 Alicante airport is the main access point for popular destinations along the Costa Blanca incluiding Alicante, Denia and Elche (Elx). In fact the airport is actually closer to the city of Elche than Alicante.

  • By road: The airport is connected to the A-7 highway also known as the Autovia de mediteraneo, Mediteranean highway (motorway between Algercias and Barcelona).
  • By Taxi: Taxi transfers from the rank in front of the existing Terminal 1 will take you to Alicante city center in 20 minutes and cost approximately 20€.
  • By Bus: The bus from Alicante airport to Alicante city center takes around 35 minutes and will set you back €3,60 each way. The same price is applied to the bus service to Elche although for a shorter 25 minute journey. Return tickets are not available.
