Jerez Airport
Known simply as Jerez airport the aerodrome actually serves "Jerez de la frontera", Jerez of the frontier and the surrounding areas of Tarifa, Chiclana, Huelva and even the Spanish National park of Doñana. The airport in Jerez can also act as an alternative for Sevilla should your destination not be served from Andalucias capital.
Whilst a simple one storey structure the terminal has no need to be any bigger as its only for a few days in July and August each year that it reaches capacity due to tourist traffic heading for the nearby beaches
Inside the terminal there are the normal duty free shops, restaurants and even a store selling the famous Osbourne wine of the region. On the arrivals side of things there are ample hire car firms and even some of the larger hotel chains maintain kiosks.
Transport to and from
For Spains southern Atlantic coastline there really isn't any alternative to the airport at Jerez de Frontera and as such the airport enjoys excellent communiactions by road and bus to the surounding areas.
Airlines and destinations
With it taking around 15 minutes from Aircraft gate to being outside the arrivals hall in the car park / pick up point Jerez de la Frontera airport offers a stress free way to start ones holiday in the south of Spain.
Domestic airlines and destinations
With only three domestic destinations available from Jerez airport the traveller may find himself having to go via Madrid or Barcelona to reach his ultimate destination. An alternative to this is travelling up to Sevilla / Seville where a greater domestic network of flights are available.
- Barcelona flights by Vueling - Low cost
- Madrid flights by Iberia, Spanair and Ryanair - Mix of low cost and legacy
- Palma de Mallorca flights by Air Berlin - Low cost
International flights and destinations
Of the destinations and airlines listed below are only the scheduled carriers providing year round connections. The summer months can see a doubling or even tripling of the number of flights operated due to the presence of charter airlines. As these airlines operate infrequently and sometimes prohibit seat only sales we have ignored them from the Jerez airport destinations list.
- Dusseldorf flights by Air Berlin and Condor
- Edinbrough flights by Flyglobespan and Ryanair
- Frankfurt flights by Condor
- Hannover flights by Hapag Lloyd Express
- Karlsruhe flights by Ryanair
- London Stansted flights by Ryanair
